When it come towards me as judging myself on the basics of my writings, then I would say that I am a good writer. I always engage myself in providing specific evidences which can make my essay stronger and different from others. Going through the process of developing ideas and structuring an essay is quite a harder job, I had face problems in connecting back my evidences with the thesis statement. When I start to write, after a certain point I get distracted from my main argument. Through out the journey of this class I tried my level best to stay on focus towards my argument and connecting back my evidences with it. Grammar wise I really didn't face any problems although I make silly errors for being careless. Before starting this class my previous essays were full of fragments, I putted all my efforts to overcome it and I think somewhere I have succeeded in my goal.
The beginning of the first essay was quite harder because we were intended to write it approximately of 600 words. Writing so long was harder because there was a greater chance of distraction and it was quite boring at first place. But later when you start to get habituated with it and everything seems easier. From this class which I learned a lesson of life through the movie Minority Report, that we the humans can change our destiny through our wills. I think this lesson had a great impact on my life, because I used to think that your destiny is written at the time you are born and it is certain. But now I knew that although your destiny is certain but changing it depends on you.
Moving forward to Eng102 then I think that I need to overcome from my silly grammatical mistakes and providing stronger evidences with some mixture of philosophical ideas. I never used my philosophical ideas over my essays because I was a bit scare how to make connections and so on. Truly speaking in this class I founded a higher competition , because everyone of us are strong writers. Therefore it was hard to stick to a position with good grades.
I never used the writing center before, but in order to make my essays proper for this I was bound to use it. I still remember how much problem I faced with the article “The Man On The Moon” to connect it with my thesis. My experience with the writing center was great. The professors whom I worked with helped me a lot. They have suggested me with various examples in order to make my essay more clear and stronger.
Finally, I am really thankful to you professor, you're being so nice with us. Because I always have heard from my friends that Eng 101 professors are strict ,but you were absolutely opposite. You always gave you 100% to make the topic clear to us and providing a relax friendly environment in the class . Usually I am scare of my professors, but with you I never faced any problem sharing my difficulties regarding the papers. Tomorrow is the end of our journey of Eng101, but the memories throughout the class will stay with us forever.

Throughout the journey of this class we have went through various texts, movies, and so on ; which therefore have changed our mind of thinking and believing something as real. When it comes to the thematic connections between movies and texts I would say that “soft determinism” took place among all of these. Because everyone had their own choices to accept the truth or not, and to change their predetermined future by going for other options in life.
In the movie matrix we saw that Neo was provided with two choices among the red and the blue pills by Morpheus. Therefore Neo could have choice to live in the same rather than then creating his life a dystopia, where truth became harder to accept. So we can say that a soft determinism took place here. Additionally in the movie Gattaca Vincent accepted his truth of life that he isn’t going to live longer, he knew that he was weaker than this brother Anthon as a result he never got scared of death. All he knew that he will be changing his predetermined future and will show the world by fulfilling his dream of becoming an astronaut. He has proved that no matter how weak you are or how bad you predetermined future is, you still can see dreams and can fulfill them through hard work. Lastly Minority Report where John changed his predetermined future by Agatha where he was seen to be a criminal by killing Lew Crown. Although the situation took place in real where Lew was in front of John’s gun point but John control over his anger and therefore changed his predetermined future.
While in comes to the texts then the same situation took place with Oedipus, the prisoners in the cave and so on. Coming in the discussion on Oedipus then he had the choices either to let the truth to be unknown from him forever or to ruin his life by his own hands. Choice was his no one pressurized him and he took the decision to know the truth that he was the killer of his own biological father Creon. Further, in the Allegory of the cave although a utopia situation took place but still the prisoners had the choice either to stay in the cave forever or to escape the cave and to enter in the world of reality, i.e the actual world. Last but not the least “Man on The moon” discrimination was taking place but the people who were discriminated had the choice to raise their voice against this illegal act,some did and some didn’t .

Blog 07 Reflection
Using blogs instead of journals make a huge difference in itself; it makes your writings more informal in regards of journals. The benefits of blogs are you can see your improvements thought out the stages. Secondly you can read your fellow mates blogs and can see the difference between your writings and some else. Thirdly, comments which you get in your blogs will be helping you to improve it further. When it comes to the drawbacks then I would say that the journals you write are us between yourself and the professor where in blogs your writings can be seen throughout the world by different bloggers which some where might be embarrassing.
When it comes on sharing my experience in writing blogs and getting benefited with it, then I would say that it’s really helpful. Sometimes when I went through my blogs I observe a huge amount of changes in myself. I saw my writings to improve a lot, which was only possible for the blogs, because through them I saw my blogs and other in my class and compared my writings with them. I observed their writing style, way of presentation which later helped me to improve my own blogs.
Blogs are even beneficial at the time when you revise for the preparation of your final essay. The blogs you write can give you overall information in short which you can use in your essay. The beneficial of blogs doesn’t with the end of your class. They are going to stay forever as your writings. Knowledge never goes waste likewise in your other class you might feel the necessity of using your blog writings to make the assignment more beautiful. Journals might be thrown away or lost but blogs are going to stay for your life time.
Presenting your writings in front of others might take some courage but it’s beneficial, because your fear goes away and you become friendly to express your ideas to others. Firstly I was always scared to express or share my ideas and thoughts with others, but after I joined the blog my fear has gone away. Now I am able to make a proper interaction between my writings and others.
In life you should always go for something new. Trying new gives you experience and a clear cut idea of using it or not. If I never had tried blogs in my life I might not be able to get an experience with it,its overall benefits in life.

Blog 6: Free will and determinism
Every human being in this world have the right to choose what's good or bad for them,this is what we call as free will. If the future is predetermined then a person shouldn't be punish for committing the crime as he had no free will to go for any other options. In the movie “Minority Report” the cops were able to arrest the criminals before they have committed the crime with the help of the precogs insight. . We see that a guy name Howard Marks who was arrested for the future murder of this wife Sarah Marks, but how comes the cops can certify him as criminal, they haven't seen him to murder his wife in real? Until a crime takes place in real it can't be regarded as crime or the person as criminal. Future might be predetermined but there are lots of chances to change it , all it depends on the free will of that person.
Comparison- Both in the movie “Minority Report” and the play “ Oedipus the King” have shown that whenever a future is predicated people start to believe in that prophecy, they never try to think that it might not take place in the future. In 'Minority Report' John Anderton was arrested by the cops for murdering Lew Crown , although John haven't committed the crime nor the cops saw him to shoot the guy in real. The cops started to take the prediction of precog ( Agatha) as real and punished John for the crime he didn't committed. Similarly in 'Oedipus the King' when Laius heard the prophecy that his son is going to kill him and take over his kingdom and will be marrying his wife Jocasta , he took a decision to get ride of the problem by killing Oedipus after his birth. Laius for once didn't thought that the prophecy might go wrong in future , Oedipus might not kill him if they give him the teachings to choose what's wrong and right for him.

And at last John chooses not to kill Lew, therefore in this situation soft determinism is taking place. Rather on the other case Oedipus was predicated to kill Laius and finally it happens because Oedipus didn't had any options to go for unless killing his own biological father. Regarding this case hard determinism is taking place. We can't blame Oedipus as criminal because he didn't had any free will to go for and his future was predetermined.

Blog 05
The genetic engineered humans are taken to be superior as they are made up of the best genes of the human body. But being a genetic doesn’t mean that you’re the ultimate one and no one can beat you up. The normal people somewhere would try to overcome these perfect humans as to show that they can control them in some point. In reality the real humans are the best humans in this world because all this inventions so far of making a product as equal or superior are made by us.
In the movie Gattaca, we see two brothers Vincent “who is born without the aid of technology” and Anton, “the perfect men designed to be born with the best genes of his parents”. For this reason Vincent is always discouraged to move further to dream something really special; being an astronaut. This discouragement somewhere made his will power stronger to reach his final destination with any cost. When Vincent started to recognized his stronger will power, he thought that he isn’t weaker than Anton. It is the mind of the people which makes us think that we are weaker or stronger than the other competitor. Whatever our mind says us, we believe it as the ultimate truth. Vincent mind even made him thought that he can never beat Anton until the day they went for the swimming challenge where Anton was defeated by Vincent.
In the article “The man on the moon” George J. Annas ‘to conquer death by engineering the immortal humans’. Through the gradual steps of the topics of the article makes a sense of discrimination between humans and to regard the superior product to be the best humans. On the basics of the topic called “Genetic Engineering” exclaimed that now with the help of the advance technology we can do cloning and produce people smarter than us. No matter how exact people you make with the best qualities can never beat the real humans. Technology is so advanced in this world that we somewhere have forgotten that these are all made by the humans. Even the cloning process is invented by the humans, it somewhere resembles that the technical product can’t be compared to be best than the actual humans because they come to this world through our help of inventions and discoveries.
The real humans are the superior of the humanity stage; no other technical invention can beat them up. Because they are provided with certain limit of power where humans are gifted with an unending power of mind which has helped them to come so far in regards of advancement of technology and discoveries. Somewhere in this advance world we are diverted from the truth that the real humans are born with unique characteristics which isn’t presented in any other animals or the product of “others”

In class Essay
The truth is always hard for humans to accept. They later find out that leaving the fake world and entering the world of reality is worse. Human lives turn out to be a dystopia in most of the cases. When it comes on judging the two processes of giving up illusions and embracing the truth, I would say that the movie “matrix” is more accurate.
In the movie “matrix” Morpheus shows Neo the world of reality is a dystopia, the machines have generated the world and using humans as their batteries i.e. humans are their slaves. No matter if you’re in Neo’s position or not, when you come to know the truth it gets painful to lead whole life with it.
When you are a baby girl you hear about fairy tales and the most famous one is Cinderella. From there you start to imagine a dream scenario about your future life where your prince charming will be waiting for you in his wisdom. You will be his queen and a happy life ever after. But gradually when you start to grow up and observe the world in different positions, you come out of the fake world with some broken desires. You start to realize that in life no one is made perfect, all you have to do are adjustments throughout your life.
“Curiosity Kills the Cat” this phrase suits Oedipus the King. Oedipus was so curious to find out the killer of Laius (250). When teiresias prophecy started to point Oedipus as the faulter, then he disbelieved it, he said he can’t believe a blind man (330-400). His wife Jocasta prevented him from knowing the truth; she said that prophecy doesn’t come true always. For Laius it didn’t he was killed by a group of foreigners (850-870). But Oedipus didn’t stop here; he called for the servant to appear. The servant finally took off the curtains of fake world and showed him the reality. Oedipus is the one who killed his father; his wife is his mother, and the children he is claiming to be his in reality are his siblings. At last Oedipus lose everything at the end (1470). When I came to know my truth, like Oedipus I even lost every hope and desires of my life. My life even turned down to be a question for myself. In other words, a dystopia that took place.
However truth is, it will come out one day no matter what you do. It will be painful and heart breaking, but you have to accept it and keep moving on with this pain hidden in your heart.

Both in the matrix and Oedipus the king symbolized that whenever we come to know the truth it’s painful than the fake world we were used to believed. In the matrix and Oedipus the king, when Neo started to recognized the world of truth it turned to be a dystopia for him as well as Oedipus. The time when the truth wasn’t revealed to Oedipus he was determined to punish the criminal for the act he did, started to curse him(lines 310-320) and disbelieved TEIRESIAS prophecy (lines 440-450). When all the evidences were pointing out to him still he didn’t believed it until the servant came and said him the truth. The truth that he is the one who killed his father Laius ,the parents whom he believed so far weren’t his own (lines 1400-1410),shared his mother as his wife, the kids whom he was loving as his children are his siblings. The whole life he led at last became a question for him.

Neo at that time couldn’t believe on his eyes and the facts he knew. Truth is like that, you never know how painful it’s going to be in your later life.
