When humans start to find the truth in their lives, they actually come out with the idea that they were in the cave where they saw and believed the things they were meant to. Whether it is the allegory of the cave or the matrix in both the situation you need to face the truth and get adjusted with the dystopia. Among the two processes of giving up illusion and embracing truth I would believe that “Allegory of the Cave” is more accurate because majority of the people would find that the outer world of truth is more adjustable than the cave in spite of believing that the machines have generated the world and using humans as slaves. I never have though about the message matrix symbolized until I saw it, like me there are many people who are unaware of it. When it comes to judge my position, I am still exploring the truth around me and looking forward for others.
The Allegory of the Cave is a narrated scenario by Plato where he describes some people being chained in such a way that they can’t see anything expect the wall screen projector. Whatever they see in the projector takes them as the real truth and believes it. When one of them escapes the cave and faces the sun he starts to take the sun as the reality. When he went back to describe the situation to his fellow prisoners they rather took him a shadow and starts to disbelieve.
In the topic of “race-the power of illusions” we find out some points which were hidden from the people behind the curtains of dark which are the actual truth. Race differences wasn’t ever made or follow by ancient people during their time, it is all modern made up rules. Secondly, except the skin we all have the same identical features among each other. Thirdly, in English there is no word called race that exists.
In “Truman show” a guy name Truman who lived his whole life under media control. The things he would do were broadcasted in the TV for audience interaction and popularity. With time Truman started to realize that everything he experienced in life so far were all fake. He was adopted for a TV commercial show by the director who got profited by telecasting all this emotions towards the audiences. The show ended up with Truman finding his real world of truth and leaving the cave of media.
As being a girl I like most of us believe in the fairy tale story of Cinderella, that one day your prince will come and take you to the kingdom and you will have a happy life ever after. It’s hard when you grow up and realize that your prince charming isn’t coming to take you, all you have to go through adjustments.
Above all it can be said that the Allegory of the Cave exists among the people when they find out the truth and meaning of their life.
Zaiba, there are lots of instances where your work needs editing to be accessible to readers. In terms of content, while the Truman show supports your position, you need more support than just a movie. Also the cinderella story actually undermines your thesis, as it is a case where the truth is more painful than the illusion
